This mega-project comprises all tasks required for a major turn key project, such as selection of site locations based on geological, environmental and strategic considerations, conceptual and detailed design, procurement of equipment and bulk items, construction, training, commissioning, start-up and operation and maintenance (one year).

Plant & Service Department employed more than 750 Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians and Workers.

The Utility Section Employed 255 Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians and Workers and the organisation was responsible for Power Distribution, Power Stations and Distribution Networks, Telecommunication & Data Installations, Building Services, Plumbing and Ventilation Services.

Plant & Service Department was responsible for a fleet of 410 Heavy Duty Production Units, Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Workshops, Civil Engineering, Building Maintenance, Crushing and >Batching Plants, Main Power Stations with 15 Generators Deutz & CAT (1345 KVA with step up transformers 0,4 to 10 kV 1500 KVA with associated electrical equipment), 10 kV Distribution Network for Site, Tunnel’s and Residential Area.

YANBU-3 SWCC 380/110kV Substation

• 380kV, 3150A GIS comprising of thirty-nine (39) units of 380kV circuit breakers and one hundred and four (104) units of 380kV disconnect switches arranged in one and a half circuit breaker configuration. The continuous and short circuit ratings of all 380kV equipment shall be 3150 A and 63 kA, respectively. The 380kV building shall, however, have a provision for installing two (2) additional diameters in the future.

• 110kV GIS comprising of eight (8) units of 3150A circuit breakers & twenty-two (22) units of 2000A circuit breakers and twenty (20) units of 3150A disconnect switches & sixty-six (66) units of 2000A disconnect switches arranged in a double bus single breaker configuration. The short circuit ratings for all 110kV equipment shall be 40kA. The 110kV GIS shall be designed to have provision for installing six (6) additional new bays in future.

• 13.8kV metalclad switchgear comprising of two (2) units of 630A, 25kA SF6 / Vacuum circuit breakers.

• Three (3) units of 302/402/502MVA (Tertiary 2MVA), ONAN/ONAF1/ONAF2 or OFAF, YNa0d1, 380/110/13.8kV, 3-phase, 60Hz., Z (P-S) = 22% (500MVA base), oil immersed auto power transformers complete all other accessories and appurtenances.

• Two (2) units of 1500kVA, 13.8kV/380-220V, Dyn11, ONAN, impedance 7.5% Station Service Transformers complete all other accessories and appurtenances.

• Two (2) units of 13.8kV, zig-zag grounding transformers complete all other accessories and appurtenances.

• Two (2) units of 380kV, 120MVAR, ONAN, Bus Shunt Reactor complete all other accessories and appurtenances.

• Three (3) units of 380kV, 60MVAR, ONAN, Line Shunt Reactor complete all other accessories and appurtenances.

• Addition / modification of all necessary metering, protection, control, communication Alarm / Annunciation, SOE, FR and SCADA / SOE / SAS / DSM equipment Fire Detection / Alarm and Safety & Fire Protection system, Lighting system, Grounding system, RTV coating as per PTS-11WN305.

PS-2 380/13.8kV Substation (AL-MUSAYJEED)

• 380kV, 3150A GIS comprising of twelve (12) units of circuit breakers and thirty-four (34) units of disconnect switches arranged in one and a half circuit breaker configuration. The continuous and short circuit ratings of all 380kV equipment shall be 3150 A and 63kA, respectively. The 380kV building shall, however, have a provision for installing two (2) additional diameters in the future.

• 13.8kV metalclad switchgear comprising of two (2) units of 630A, 25kA SF6 / Vacuum circuit breakers.

• One (1) unit of 13.8kV RMU with circuit breaker for “T” of circuit.

• Three (3) units of 125MVA, ONAN/ONAF1/ONAF2/OFAF, YNd1d1, 380/13.8/13.8kV, 3-phase, 60Hz., oil immersed transformers complete with other accessories and appurtenances.

• One (1) unit of (spare) 125MVA, ONAN/ONAF1/ONAF2, YNd1d1, 380/13.8/13.8kV, 3-phase, 60 Hz., oil immersed spare transformer (similar to the above) complete with other accessories and appurtenances.

• Two (2) units of 1500kVA, 13.8kV/380-220V, Dyn11, ONAN, impedance 7.5% Station Service Transformers complete all other accessories and appurtenances.
